Hi Teguh, Here is the international milis of mandrake newbie, please use english if you ask someting. ok i am understand, i am from indonesia too. 1. wich desktop do u use ( KDE or GNome )? allright, i have assumtion that you are using KDE. you just right click the mouse on the desktop and select create new > file > link to application. just enough. and than u only enter the name of application and how call that application. or the second way, you just drag and drop the file of the application to the desktop. its simple :) And about the ln -s command, for example you want make a link of direktory /mnt into you home directory with the name devices, so you shouldn't reach the /mnt from the top of root but only click the directory from your home directory. $ln -s /mnt $HOME/devices violaa now you have directory have name devices in your home direktory. so you can access /mnt via this directory. if you have difficult how to use the command in linux, please type --help after the command. for example ln --help.. so you can see and read the help to use this command.
