For the comfort of a gui - use Software Installer to see what's available to you. If you already have a Mandrake-prepared rpm that you want to install, just click on it and you should get the option to open it with Software Installer. Both methods use urpmi - far the safest method, as urpmi tracks what you have installed and all dependencies.
