Somehow I seriously doubt that those FEW reboots hurt your machine.
You'd have to reboot thousands of times a day, for days on end, to
notice any hardware failure due to THAT. More likely, you have a
single bad piece of hardware, or a combination of hardware that that
doesn't work. As for the fuzzy video - which OS is it in? Have you
done a self test on the monitor? All kinds of things can happen.
I work as tech spt for a world wide manufacturer of computers, and
I've found that most errors are of the One Delta Ten Tango varity.
Video problems under MS are usually from installing something that
wants a certain video mode.
Don't blame a standard thing (rebooting) for hardware failure. I used
to reboot my machine on a daily basis (usually 3-4 times, minimum)
under MS, and never once caused a hardware failure over a couple of
years. You can't tell me you've rebooted more times in a few weeks
than I did in a few years.
