OOPS! Forgot to add

Okay. I give up. I did a clean install of 7.0 Server recently. I have squid
properly configured, but my proxy server is failing with the following extraced
from /var/log/messages...
[date] kb01ln squid[641]: Squid parent : child process 749 started
[date] kb01ln (squid): Cannot open /var/log/squid/access.log: (13) Permision
Denied
[date] kb01ln squid[641]: Exiting due to repeated, frequent failures
[date] kb01ln squid[641]: Squid Parent : child process 749 exited with Status 1
I have tried all that I know, including making the /var and its subdirectories
777
I still get this error message.
Am I missing something obvious?
Didn't have this problem with 6.1. Maybe stronger security in 7.0?
