About a week or so ago I posted about a problem I was having with cdrecord (the problem being it just plain wouldn't burn anything for me, even though it had previously been working fine). I tried replacing the Mandrake RPM of cdrecord 1.8a29 with an RPM of cdrecord 1.8a40 and... problem solved. Works fine again. I guess somehow maybe old version + new kernel + my particular drive = my problem, and somehow it's fixed on the newer version. Either that or maybe it's a Pentium issue (I do have an AMD K6 200, instead of Intel, so who knows) since the new version I downloaded is compiled for i386. Any chance newer versions of cdrecord can be put into future versions of Mandrake, and maybe even the 7.0 updates? It apparently fixes bugs--or at least bugs that applied to my particular situation. -Tom
