Contact your ISP and get their DNS addresses. Win9x
will let you get away with no DNS entries, but Linux will
not.  Also, under kppp make sure you choose the correct
port for you modem.  My external modem worked fine once
I changed the port from /dev/modem to /dev/cua0 (linux
equivalent of com1: in win) .. in my case my modem is
an external Hayes connected to com port #1.  /dev/modem
did not set up correctly when I installed MDK7 but
/dev/cua0 works like gangbusters.
