I saw something about this before I realized that I needed and now don't remember where to find it. I read that the first user made after setting the root password during the install didn't get the proper permissions on its config files. For example, I can change my sound card volumes, but they aren't saved, I have to change them every time I start up. I realize I need to change the permissions on some files, but cannot find out which ones. Thanks, Mike
