OK,

1. How are you logging on to your ISP, CHAP or PAP?
2. Have you tried adding a "novj" argument (without the quotes) to the
argument list on the kppp setup screen?
3. There is a file      /etc/resolve.conf
it should contain the following      note no < >'s

search <your_ISP_name.here>    (eg kirbywhq.com)
nameserver <xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx>  (your ISP's DNS server IP number)
nameserver <xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx>  (providing your ISP gave you 2 DNS
numbers)
