[newbie] no available partitions

[Pittman, Merle]

I am trying to install mandrake 7.02 on a old P133.
The install hangs  when it comes to the partitioning sectiona nd says that
"it can find no available partitions",  I know this is false, I have 1 GB
partition with nothing on it.  Is there a certain format the partition
should be in for the install to recognize it??
