Hello,

I am new to the group. But not entirely new to UNIX/Linux world. This
I'm afraid makes me knowledgeable enough to be dangerous. Fortunately
the only computer I have to mess up is my own. Lately, that appears to
be all that I am doing. I have been having a problem with kppp locking
up my machine or after a successful session I am unable to use kppp
again when it tells me that the modem is busy. When this occurs, the
only recourse I know of is to reboot. When I do this I get a byte dump
and a message:

"AIEEE, killing the interrupt table"
"Kernel panic attempted to kill idle task in interrupt handler-not
synching."

then the machine locks up and I must do a reset of the machine.

This has got me peeved cause that first message looks like my machine
has got a virus or something like that. It just doesn't look like a
message a "professional" programmer would insert in code. Well anyway, I
have attached my boot messages if someone would be kind enough to look
through it Now when I send this out and hang up and shutdown I will
have to reboot.

TIA,

Terence Golightly
[EMAIL PROTECTED]

BTW
I am using kernel 2.2.13 which I downloaded and compiled. Then modem is
a USR. EXT. 56K FAXMODEM which works in gatezdoze.
