[newbie] Setting up ppp

Hi all,

I have just installed Mandrake 7.0 on a PII 366 MHz. It runs on a second partition (Win98 on hda1).

Installing was a breeze with everything easily configured. Except dial-up.

I configured a dial-up connection when I installed Mandrake, but I cannot ping any IP addresses.

I got my settings (dns etc.) from my service provider.

How can I troubleshoot? (I know about route and ifconfig - the output looks OK)

The /var/log/messages file does not give a clue.

Am I missing something?
