after I installed Lm and got the nic/vid working I noticed that linux was
only seeing 10M of my 127M of ram
I added the mem=128M to lilo.con ran lilo and rebooted
after the reboot I get a GPF (general protection fault) right after the
detection of memory
it reads:
CPU: 0
EIP: 0010:[c0123783]
EEFLAGS: 00010286
eax: 0000009f ebx: c7fff0d8 ecx: c021fe40
edx: c021fe40

esp: c0239ec8
ds: 0018 es: 0018 ss: 0018
Process swapper (pid: 0, process nr: 0, stackpage=c0239000)
more info on Stack, Call trace and Code
then it says Kernel panic: Attempted to kill the idle task!
In swapper task - not syncing

what the heck is all this?
why did linux barf on my mem=128M??? I do have 128M, I see 128M in winblows
95/98/NT4/win2k

any help would be greatly appreciated
