[newbie] 2 quick questions - - sound card & DSL

Hi, i just installed Mandrake 7 and have these quick questions:

1.  No sound, my souncard does not seem to be auto detected although it is
supported.  How do I install it?

2.  DSL, I have a DSL modem and ethernet card (both connected and working),
do I need special software to use my modem?  How do I connect?  (ie do I
need a special PPP program, how do i configure it, and does it have to be
specific to my modem/DSL provider)?
