[newbie] SIGHUP?

Hi all

Sometimes I feel like I know a bit about Linux, sometimes I run into
something that stumps me.

Just now, I found this in a text-file:

"give qmail-send a SIGHUP"

Can anyone tell me what a SIGHUP is, and how you give it to a running
process?
