Hi,

I was able to correct the sector overlapping errors by deleting the
partition, and specifying my own size for the D partition without
Partition Magic.
The original D partition size was 2047 MB.

Original Installation
Mandrake 7.0's Auto allocation assigns the following to my D partition:

/boot = 15 MB
/ = 925 MB
/swap = 188 MB
/home = 925 MB

The total is 2043 MB.

A message followed up:
"sector #8385993 (61498 MB) and sector #6506388 (3702 MB) are
overlapping!"

I clicked on the OK and Done buttons. The installation ran okay, and
Linux
worked work for two or three days.
The third day, when I was in Linux KDE, I selected logout, shutdown and
restart.
My intentions were go to WinNT4 - to access Netscape. During the start
up,
the screen went totally black and did not change.

I corrected this by reinstalling as shown:

Second Installation
I ran the installation CD - to setup of file systems. Before deleting, I
clicked on each sector, and wrote down the size of each sector.
Next, I deleted the D partition, sector by sector, and resized each
sector, as shown below:

/boot = 15 MB
/ = 854 MB
/swap = 321 MB
/home = 854 MB

The total is 2044 MB.

Note: For '/swap', I have 128 MB. of RAM and multiplied the values times
2.5.
The value comes to 320 but Mandrake forces it to 321 MB. No problem.

I reran the installation, with no sector errors.
