is this all on the same computer
or do you have a network going on?
because if the linux computer also has the adsl modem then u need to get
pppoe (ppp over ether-net)

can help u setup pppoe over linux

if the adsl modem is not on the same computer as ur linux
then, i don't know how to help
as for the nic
u need to run linuxconf at the console
and u have the options there to setup the network card (did it for pci card,
not sure
if u need to take other steps for ISA)
