I have had something similar when I was attempting to install 7.1 on my 166.
I wanted to install it on my SCSI HD instead on my win 2k partition (which
is a IDE drive), I have a Adaptec 1542cf ctrl on 334,12,7 and it would never
see my scsi HD in the part where it makes the partition.
Weird.. (or that's what I thought!)
