Hello ! I have installed Mandrake 7.1 and then started problems with sound (when I had RedHat 6.0 there was none). The main problem is that MP3's are playing about 2 times slower. You hear it like tape in slow-motion. I've been checking almost everything, and couldn't find why is it hapening. Sound Card is set properly, no conflicts, MIDI's are playing OK, but MP3 ... not. Maybe it's MPG123 problem (xmms is using it too?). I have got kind of old computer : P233 Notebook with ESS1688. I was using sndconfig to configure sound.
