Installed 7.1 this weekend. The install went much less smoothly than with 6.5 and 7.0. I have two hard disks, Mandrake 7.1 was installed on the second hard drive. LILO would not install, complained about some error on /dev/hda2. I then installed grub. It gets to the stage1 prompt and hangs. I also cannot boot back to my Windows 98 hard disk even after FDISK /MBR and other old standby tricks. I have bought Norton Systemworks 2000 in hopes of fixing this problem, which manifests itself as "invalid media error." How can I fix my Windows 98 hard disk without reformatting, and how can I get rid of grub and use LILO instead (which worked fine under releases 6.5 and 7.0?)
