It was Sep 28, 2000, 15:04, when Adam keyboarded: > Hi, I downloaded and installed the ISO images from rpmfind.net for >LM 7.2 Beta3, in 7.1 and 7.0 my SB Live! Value was detected and properly >compiled into the kernel, yet now I find that I can't use the "Audio >Mixer" I assume from the gnome packages (not aumix) says that "Sound is >not compiled into your kernel" though I still get sound I assume from >esd. I'm a fairly big newbie, and I'm just wondering if I'm the only >one to have this problem... Sounds like nothing to worry about. When you have sound, then it is apparently loaded as a separate module while booting. Happens with my SB64 Awe too, I can see the modules being loaded. And that works fine.
