[newbie] KDE Crashes every time I line up icons

Okay, here' s one I haven't seen on the list before.  Every time I change my 
desktop, KDE Crashes...

Line up Icons - crash
change background image - crash
change colors - crash

I'm losing faith in KDE, and long for the days of Enlightenment.
