Hi Glenn. My understanding is that if your MB controller and hard drive support
ATA 66, then you can add a line to /etc/lilo.conf, and get the faster speed.
I've seen several messages on this, and have a question myself. Should it be:
idebus=66
or
"idebus=66"
I've seen it posted both ways! Currently, I'm using the line without any
quotes. Glenn, are you familiar with hdparm? If not, do a man hdparm from a
console/shell, and read about it. It is a great utility for squeezing out the
best performance from your HD. Just be sure and read the cautions associated
with it!!!
