I have just installed Mandrake 7.2 and have successfully installed additional programs from the cdroms using the rpm utility. However, my prior Linux experience is with Slackware which has the installpkg and pkgtool programs to install .tgz files. If I find programs in .tgz format, how do I handle installation of such programs in Mandrake 7.2?
