Have you tried downloading from different servers and turning off
proxies? For some reason my proxy doesn't work with MandrakeUpdate.

If you really need to reinstall Mandrake Update, download and install
ftp://ftp.rpmfind.net/linux/Mandrake/updates/7.2/RPMS/MandrakeUpdate-7.2-19.1mdk.i586.rpm.

You will have to force the installation (or uninstall the old package
first) since you already have it installed.
