Hi Paul, sorry for this late reply.. Can't find your email-addy, so i send this to this list for all the world to see :) Joystick setup in the vice is very easy. For the unix/linux versions, just hold the _right_ mouse-button (the left pops up a load-menu), choose joystick setup from the popup-menu, and choose your favourite option. Numpad is great if you don't have a joystick, you use the numpad keys for an 8-directional joystick, with left ctrl for fire. I still use the c64, but mainly the real thing, emulators only when absolutely neccesarry :) .. It a great machine really :) .. Easy to program as well, and fun to try to get it to do things that's impossible on an 1mhz machine with 64k of memory, and see it work :) . The c64 scene is still alive! Btw, check out sta.c64.org, there you can find instructions for building (or ordering cheap) a X1541-series cable, which allows you to transfer your c64 disks to and from the pc! :) (make sure to get the version that works under linux).
