There's nothing wrong with the software -- most of the people on this
list are using the software that came with one or another Mandrake
distribution for their net connections. (BTW, in one sense, it's all
third party software.) Let's back up and start again. What kind of
hardware do you have? (The modem identification is especially
important.) What are you trying to connect to? How? What have you tried?
What happened? Clearly, you're able to make some sort of connection.
How?
