[newbie] Big fonts are overtaking my PC

This is an annoying problem.

My NIC card in my Linux box died over the weekend, so, I had to shut down
the PC to make the swap. All went well with the operation but, when I
started KDE all of my fonts where as large as anything. What would cause
this? I don't think that it has anything to do with the NIC card
replacement. Or does it? Anywho, how can I fix this, is the question?
