I do not know what I am doing wrong. Cups is supposed to be the next generation of printing for linux, but I have 3 hard drives running linux and after doing almost any kind of update in KDE I can no longer print. It looks like I am stuck in the KDE 1.99 world or use the old printing in Mandrake, what is it? lpr? any way I think that if they are going to push it , needs to be way more reliable and not get bummed out every time you change something in your configuration. Three different hard drives and I can't print my initials! I have looked at the configuration files and nothing seems wrong but if I click on the Kups or printer icon it says "can't connect to the cups server, check options" Any one have any ideas, I do have a couple of slide rules around here, maybe I should regress to the old ways. Any help is appreciated. -- Dennis M. registered Linux user # 180842
