Yes, but before launching Mozilla remember to be su or logged in as
root first. Go to any webpage that requires use of Java, and download
by clicking on the appropriate button that pops up. After installation,
go to /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins and check whether there is a symbolic
link named libjavaplugin_oji.so. If it isn't there, create a symbolic
link here pointing to
/usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/java2/plugin/i386/ns600/libjavaplugin_oji.so
While you're at it, you might also want to copy over (or create links
from) the Realplayer and Flash plugin files from Netscape at
/usr/lib/netscape/plugins. (Assuming they're installed), the files are
libflashplayer.so ShockwaveFlash.class raclass.zip and rpnp.so

Now, as user, launch Mozilla and verify that the plugins have been
installed by clicking on Help-->About Plug-ins.
Hope this helps. :) If I've missed something out feel free to add on.
