What's the difference between the DURON and the T-BIRD.

Both are 850 MHz, both are of course AMD. I went to buy a AMD
T-BIRD 850, but ended up getting a AMD DURON 850. I called back
to the place asking if I could actually swap the two CPUs and get
the one I wanted and thought I was getting.

I was charged for the DURON. The T-BIRD is only $25 more then the
DURON I got. Upon calling into the store, the guy who answered
pretty much went and tried to sell me on a faster more powerful CPU.

Now this machine is the first machine that I've had a AMD chip in.
I've always had Intel, and I know a lot about them. AMD on the other
hand is a different story. I know very little about them other then
they are powerful and are considerably less expensive then the Intel
chips of comparable power.

So what's the difference between the DURON and the T-BIRD. Should I
go in there and bump heads to get my T-BIRD 850? Or just live with
the DURON?

The machine previous to this one was a PII 400. The machine doesn't
seem much faster, except accessing those drives on that Promise
control is faster then my other motherboard.

I figured somebody on the lists would know and could fill me in! Any
help is always appreciated! Thanks!
