Ensure that you install all of the rpms for the graphical startups.
Also, log in as root and open lilo.conf, and ensure that the following
line appears as shown in the example below:
image=/boot/vmlinuz
label=linux
root=/dev/hda8
append=" quiet"
vga=788
read-only
