In the man rpm page there is an extense list of commands and options but I
usually use rpm -q name_of_the_rpm_package. This will display a list of all
the files that the rpm contains. This is the first step. If the fil that you
are looking for it's in the package you can make an rpm -e
name_of_the_rpm_package to uninstall the package and a rpm -i -v
name_of_the_rpm_package to install it again and to look for the display
messages of the files installed.
I hope this could help ... I'm a newbie too!

Lionel

Subject: [newbie] rpm

Hi,

How can I know what dit the installation of a rpm ? I am wondering because
I installed the GSL rpm but I do not find the gsl_math.h file. Something
went perhaps wrong during the installation...

Thanks a lot

Fred
