I had to get my own e mail server
I don't like leasing someone else's,
I don't trust that someone won't
read my mail spool, and I don't
like the fact that if you lease someone
else's mail server that you can't get into
the root access and bounce spam mail.

To do this one needs a fat pipe (such as
dsl or cable or T1 or 3) to the internet
and a static IP address, and to register
a domain name so that e mail will resolve
to your server.
