Mandrake 2.2 packages have had ReiserFS support since Mandrake 7.1. I haven't
tried any of their recent 2.2 kernels, but I don't think this has changed.

You can have multiple kernels installed. On my machine, I have a 2.2 kernel
(which I never use) and three different 2.4 ones.

With that said, most apps work with a 2.4 kernel. The ones that don't use
features that are specific to the 2.2 series (like ipchains).
