You should not need to edit any files to get SWAT working. So long as the xinetd daemon is running, the samba package is installed, and the host table contains the entry '127.0.0.1 localhost', then you should be able to run SWAT Can you run the web interface for CUPS and Webmin? (localhost:631 and localhost:10000)
