Sometimes you have to completely reinitialize a disk, I use IIRC dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/hdx where x is the harddrive, sometimes /dev/hdd or /dev/hde Just make sure it is the right one, been-there and done-that too It takes some time, but thil will completely remove any bad configurations from a disk -- Gerald Waugh
