I read about that the other day, but can't for the life of me remember exactly what it was for... maybe that has something to do with the 1/2 doz rums I've had ; ) ... IIRC, it is not required if you use lilo. I think it has something to do with grub or another boot manager. I upgraded my kernel to 2.4.17-13mdkenterprise a little while ago and figured I didn't need the kernel-BOOT- package, and as it turns out, I don't seem to be missing anything. skinky -- oxymoron: Microsoft Works
