I have no idea if this is the answer to your problem, but aliases in my /etc/bashrc are surrounded by '' not ""
ie mine reads alias ls='ls -a --color=auto' what does happen when you type l ?? H > I have made an alias in /etc/bashrc, $HOME/.bashrc and $HOME/.bash_profile > as given below > alias l="ls -alF --color=yes |more" > this doesn't give the desired/actual result as given in command line. > Any help please. > --
