I just reinstalled MD 8.1, reformatting all partitions in the process. The install went fine. I started KDE, then opened a terminal window and did a "ls -a" and it shows a broken DCOP server link. Why?
My .xsession-errors file says: "_KDE_IceTransmkdir: Owner of /tmp/.ICE-unix should be set to root DCOPServer is up and running. _IceTransmkdir: Owner of /tmp/.ICE-unix should be set to root kdeinit: Fatal IO error: client killed kdeinit: sending SIGHUP to children. kdeinit: sending SIGTERM to children. kdeinit: Exit." The system is running. I have not discovered what is not working as a result of the errors. I've never even run the ICE window manager before if that has anything to do with it. Thanks in advance.
