read recently somewhere.  I don't like dinkin' w/BIOS,
since this is a dual HD (1 linux, 1 Win98) & the win
APM is set by the OS & works fine.  But if I have
to...

And I'm using Gnome, and there seems no evident power
control center in the Gnome or Mandrake Control
centers such as you have in KDE.
