>From KDE, its a two step process: open a terminal and do 'su' so you can 'umount /mnt/floppy' Go to Configuration->Hardware->Floppy Formatter When I'm done, I go back to my terminal and 'mount /mnt/floppy' You could also use the Gnome Floppy application from the same menu. Barry
