I think you need to edit your /etc/fstab. Make sure you add the "user"
option. From the mount man page: 
Normally, only the superuser can mount file systems. However, when
fstab contains the user option on a line, then anybody can mount      
the corresponding system.

This is what the line in my fstab looks like:
/dev/sda1 /mnt/flash vfat rw,noauto,user,exec,noatime 0 0
