Adobe Reader enables spyware,

Serious :( I got excited at the prospect of having adobe reader on my LE2005, but I don't want to go down the virus/spy/ad/malware road. That's one of the big reasons I don't use Might-go-soft.

you can install it no problem, the spyware trigger sits in certain documents. as long as you only open your own documents with it for example there is no problem. http://helping.net/p2p/AdobeAcrobatSpyingonUsers.html there are so many open source alternative pdf readers ... but maybe there is a way to block this spyware via firewall ?

kind regards philippe

Thanks for this Philippe,
I've only used the open source ones before, LE2005 is the first one I've installed Adobe on. I was excited at first because it does have a little more 'polish' than the others. I'll have a good play and evaluate things. If I like it too much I think I'll rename the plugins folder as suggested, otherwise I'll just uninstall it.
Cheers,
Aidan.
