I am sorry if this has been addressed in another thread somewhere, but despite trawling through the archives for an hour I can't find the answer.

I have recently installed Mandriva LE 2005 on my Packard Bell Easynote Sc laptop with a 700MHz P III, 256 MB Ram.

I was able to use my Speedtouch 330 Modem up until two days ago, using the files provided by Benoit Papilaut, ie. speedtouch-1.3.1.tar.gz as well as the speedtouch firmware.

Then I pressed a wrong button while reconfiguring my monitor.  After that I couldn't use Mandriva and resolved to reinstall it.  All is working fine apart from my ADSL connection.

Everytime I type speedtouch-start as root in a konsole the following message comes up:

Uploading speedtouch firmware

Then the root prompt comes up and the ADSL connection has not been started!

Anyone can help?  I checked every file and every variable, nothing seems to be amiss! :-(

I have spend hours without any luck.
