I hope this isn't too OT and that I am not prolonging the thread. I was interested to read all the things Kaj and Stephen listed to make XP a *little* more secure, and would like to ask a question.
Very occasionally I have to use Windows, and XP was installed when I bought the computer. I have several hard drives in trays, so no multiple-booting. This means that, for most of the time, the XP hard drive is about eight feet away from the computer! However, I hate XP and think that my old 98SE is a better version. I have heard that 98SE is, in fact, more secure than XP, so am wondering whether to format the hard drive and go back to 98SE. Can you confirm this? I know that 98SE is almost at the end of being supported, but it does all I want in that particular OS. Many thanks for any advice. Keith
