If you get 100% packet loss, but no other errors, then you probably have a firewall running on one or both machines. While I normaly don't recomend running without a firewall, you may want to disable them for this testing. Just make sure you re-enable the firewall on the first machine before connecting to the Internet. You can turn the firewall off by running "service shorwall stop" as root. Mikkel
Okay - have now disabled firewall on second machine and get appropriate output from ping. Now need to get some housework type things done and get to work - *so* boring comparing to this!
