Two months ago, Firefox ate my bookmarks. The whole lot just vanished overnight, and I had to restore them from a backup. Last night it did it again!

It seems to be just the bookmarks disappearing - all my settings, preferences, cookies and history are still there. Has anyone else experienced this?

My bookmarks are stored in /home/margot/.mozilla/firefox/fa9vhbhp.default/bookmarks.html

In the same folder, there's also a file called bookmarks.bak - when the original file changes, this backup file automatically changes too - so, when the original file deleted its own entire contents, it then created a backup of the newly-emptied file!

Luckily, I have my own backups stored elsewhere, so I haven't actually lost anything, but I'm puzzled about why this is happening. Any ideas?
