Oh boy. I had some trouble with an SIS and alsa. Try the OSS driver instead. I'm still using 9.2 on the machine with the SIS, but these are the relevant lines in my /etc/modules.conf (may not be the same config file name in 10.2) above snd-intel8x0 snd-pcm-oss alias sound-slot-0 i810_audio
