By default, users can not controll what is sharred. But there is an option in MCC to let them share parts of their home directory.
There are several different ways to configure Samba. You use SWAT (samba-swat) or WEBmin, or you can edit the files in /etc/samba. If the server or the configuration tool you want to use was not installed, you can use the software installer to add them. Samba itself is devided into 3 packages - Client, Server, and Common. You may not have the server package installed, depending on the options picked during install. Samba-swat and webmin are also seperate packages.
