Koen, a couple of people asked for more info, specifically exactly what
error messages you were getting. Thanks.
Have you tried urpmi slocate, or urpmi locate, or urpmi updatedb? (not sure
if those are the exact packages, but its a start).

Name: kio_locate
Version: 0.3.4-1mdk
Size: 120 KB
and
Name: slocate
Version: 2.7-4mdk
Size: 57 KB
